Purpose

 

The Be The Message Internship program is designed to provide the experience, education and exposure needed to build a foundation for your gift and calling. Our goal is for you to experience growth and maturity during the process. We want you to see this as a privilege and not a job requirement.

 

Programs

 

Serve Internship - Serve Internship is a 12-month program committed to serving the local church. The Intern will participate in serving and learning the area of ministry he or she is currently in or desire to be a part of.

 

Coach Internship - Coach Internship is a 24-month program committed to learning how to coach others effectively. We believe in learning by doing. Therefore, we also give the individual an opportunity to exercise the gift by coaching others in areas of small groups or ministries.

 

Pastoral Internship - Pastoral Internship is a 36-month program committed to preaching and teaching the Word of God in any platform. Our leaders are focused in assessing and guiding the Pastors so that the individual can be well equipped in delivering sermons, teaching bible studies, and shepherding the congregation.

 

Process

 

The Internship program has 4 processes to follow in order to complete the program.

 

Exposure

 

Each week, the individual is required to fill out the Internship track card with one credit based on the initiative accomplished. Here’s the breakdown of the codes that you can fill out each week on your Internship track card:

 

S – Served (1 credit)

T – Teach (1 credit)

P – Preached (required 3 per year)

A – Accountability (1 credit)

B – Book of the Bible (1 credit per required Bible reading and report)

AB – Review and summary of the approved desired book (1 extra credit: anytime)

LM – Local Mission (outreach 5 required credits)

IM – International Mission (2 extra credit: anytime)

PE – Personal Evangelism (5 required credits)

C – Conference (1 extra credit: anytime)

 

 

The total credits to complete the Programs are:

 

• 56 credits for Serve Internship (only from S, A, B, LM, IM, PE, C and R) (T – optional as extra credit)

• 111 credits in 2 years for Coach Internship (only from S, A, B, T, LM, IM, PE, C and R)

• 166 credits in 3 years for Pastoral Internship

 

To complete the desired credit requirements based on the program, we have options of extra credit in the exposure and education section. If you need help in completing the required credits, talk to your field supervisor. (For more details ask for a copy of internship credit system)

 

Education

Book reading is required throughout the whole Internship program, there are 1 extra credit per

book and 1 credit for the required book:

 

Serve Internship (4 books minimum required)

 

list of books that are recommended on the 1-year program:

• Book of Matthew (1 credit)

• Book of Mark (1 credit)

• Book of Luke (1 credit)

• Book of John (1 credit)

• Book of Acts (1 credit)

• Book of Romans (1 credit)

• Real Life Discipleship (required: 1 credit)

Each book will require one page of summary (double-spaced) submitted to the field supervisor

 

Coach Internship (7 books minimum required)

 

list of books that are recommended on the 2-year program:

• Book of Genesis (1 credit)

• Book of Joshua (1 credit)

• Book of Isaiah (1 credit)

• The Gospels (required: 1 credit)

• Book of Acts (1 credit)

• Book of Romans (required: 1 credit)

• Book of Revelation (1 credit)

• Leadership (required: 1 credit)

• Simple Church (required: 1 credit)

Each book will require one page of summary (double-spaced) submitted to the field supervisor

 

Pastoral Internship (10 Books minimum required)

 

list of books that are recommended on the 3-year program:

• Book of Genesis (required: 1 credit)

• Book of Exodus (1 credit)

• Book of Joshua (1 credit)

• Book of Isaiah (1 credit)

• Book of Daniel (1 credit)

• The Gospels (required: 1 credit)

• Book of Acts (required: 1 credit)

• Paul’s Epistles: Romans, Ephesians, Colossians, & Philippians (required: 1 credit)

• Book of Revelation (required: 1 credit)

• Theology (required: 1 credit)

• Leadership (required: 1 credit)

• Preaching (required: 1 credit)

Each book will require one page of the summary (double-spaced) submitted to the field supervisor

 

Do you want to do a summary of your desired book? Send the book title and author at paulsasis@bethemessagenow.com to ensure that it's approved, and you will get 1 extra credits upon completion of the book summary report.

 

Engage

 

Being accountable with your assigned focus group is a very important part of the Internship process. It is required to meet with the field supervisor once a month to discuss ministry and life to life matter. Also, the field supervisor will send a monthly question through email that consist of (personal “relationship with God” questions, Mission/Ministry updates and any concerns that are related)

 

Emerge

 

Towards the end, the Lead Pastor and the Field Supervisors will assess and have the final word to emerge you in the internship program. Our goal is to make sure that you make this experience very fun, equipping and a learning experience.

 

Upon Completion

 

Be The Message will issue a certificate of completion for the Servant and Coach Internship Program and an ordinance specifically for Pastoral Internship. All Interns upon completion will be commissioned to lead a ministry.
